Making sustainable and ethical choices on a daily basis can sometimes be overwhelming. Whether you are just starting to be more conscious about your habits, or you are an experienced green warrior, a bit of extra help and motivation is always welcome. Luckily, as with nearly everything today, there is an app for that.
Here are some of my favourites:
1.Good on you
Good on you is an app is focused on fashion, providing sustainability and ethical ratings on over 3000 clothing, footwear and accessory brands. Simply put in the name of the brand you are interested in, and Good on you shows you all the positive and negative sides of it. This app is a great tool when it comes to shopping, as it allows you to discover the story behind the brands you’re interested in.
Roughly one third of the food produced in the world gets lost or wasted. Shocking isn’t it? Too good to go is an app fighting food waste, by connecting its users with unsold food from a variety of shops and restaurants all over Europe! Simply browse the app for nearby restaurants and enjoy a delicious meal for really cheap! Remember to bring your tupperware and reusable bag with you !
3. Olio
Olio is also fighting waste, but in a slightly different way. In addition to connecting its users to local shops, Olio connects neighbours with each other so surplus food and other items can be shared, and not wasted and thrown away. It’s a wonderful app that allows you to join the waste free revolution, meet your neighbours and do your bit for the environment, for free!
4. Recycling map
This is an app for those of you that live in Switzerland. Recycling map is a great little tool that helps you discover the nearest recycling point for any object or material. If you happen to know a certain place that is not listed on the app, you can simply add it and help others around you.
I recently discovered Joule Bug and absolutely love it! This is an app that allows you to make your everyday habits more sustainable, in a super fun and engaging way. With Joule Bug you can compete in challenges, share your achievements, track the impact you are making for the environment and learn lots about the little big things you can do on a daily basis to live a more sustainable life.
Hope you find these apps useful. Have you ever heard of them? Any others you would like to recommend? Let me know in the comments below, or head over my instagram page.
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored nor paid post. I am simply sharing these apps with you as I enjoy using them, and I find them super helpful.
